Lake Success-based Canon USA Inc. said Thursday that it will now include a new PDF-reader software program bundled with some of its top-end scanners.

Canon will bundle Nuance eCopy PDF Pro Office with some models of its imageFORMULA work-group scanners that use Windows operating systems.

The Nuance software "supports 100 percent industry standard PDF and PDF/A files, and offers features that allow office workers to be more productive and efficient with PDF documents," Canon said.

"Nuance eCopy PDF Pro Office provides a variety of features for users to create, edit and convert PDF files including unique conversion of PDF files into Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Corel WordPerfect documents that can save time versus re-typing," the company said.

Canon USA plans to move its headquarters, in photo, to a new building in Melville.
