The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the New York City District Council of the Carpenters union will begin taking applications Wednesday for 10 millwright apprenticeships, officials said.
Applications can be obtained in person at the council’s Labor Technical College, 395 Hudson St., in Manhattan, from 7 to 7:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month through June 2017, excluding December 2016 and January 2017.
Applicants must present a government-issued picture ID to receive a form.
The forms should be mailed to JATC Apprentice Applications, 395 Hudson St., second floor, New York, N.Y., 10014 with a postmark that is no later than five business days from the date that the form was given out. Please note on the envelope which type of apprenticeship is being sought.
Applicants are required to attend an interview and a four-hour orientation. Latecomers will be disqualified.
Applicants must be 17 or older, provide proof of completion of high school or GED courses, pass physical and drug tests, be legally able to work in the United States and have reliable transportation.
