A Ronkonkoma company that leases storage and construction site trailers is seeking financial assistance from the Brookhaven Town Industrial Development Agency for a planned move from Ronkonkoma to Yaphank.
Cassone Leasing Inc. has requested a package of tax breaks and other assistance from the IDA, the town’s business arm. Cassone plans to build a 10,335-square-foot office building and a 47,548-square-foot industrial building as part of a $9.45 million move to a vacant, 19-acre property at Horseblock Road and Woodside Avenue.
In an IDA news release, Cassone president Lynn Kunz-Rios said the company, which also leases modular buildings and sells trucks, is growing by 30 percent annually.
“Cassone needs this new property in the Town of Brookhaven so we can keep expanding,” Kunz-Rios said in a letter accompanying the company’s IDA application. “At this point in time we are growing faster than we have room. The property would give us the ability to grow and house everyone under one roof.”
The 42-year-old company plans to add eight employees to its current staff of 70 full-time workers, the IDA news release said. Cassone plans to keep its facilities in Ronkonkoma, Holbrook and Bellport as storage yards.
