College accounting whizzes compete at Adelphi competition

In what's billed as a "College Accounting Challenge," four Long Island colleges will compete in a quiz-show display of subject mastery.

The teams will face "challenging accounting questions testing the students' knowledge in their chosen field," Adelphi University said in a statement.

Adelphi will host the Nov. 10 event at its Garden City campus. Its accounting students will face those from C.W. Post in Brookville, New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, SUNY at Old Westbury and Molloy College in Rockville Centre.

"The buzz is already starting on these five competing campuses to see which Long Island college will gain bragging rights for the best and the brightest accounting students," Adelphi said.

The event is sponsored by Garden City accounting firm Margolin, Winer & Evens.

"In a fun and healthy competition, Newsday columnist, Fox News Channel political analyst and comedian Ellis Henican will serve as the host," Adelphi said.
