Comtech Telecommunications wins $14.4M contract with Marines

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. has won a $14.4 million contract continuation from a Defense Department agency to provide satellite bandwidth and support services to the U.S. Marines, the Melville company announced Thursday.

The Defense Information Systems Agency, which provides information technology services to the U.S. military, exercised a third-year option for the period Aug. 1, 2016 through July 31, 2017.

Under the contract, Comtech subsidiary Telecommunications Systems Inc. in Annapolis, Maryland, is supplying the Marine Corps with commercial satellite services.

Comtech provides advanced communications services and products for the civilian and military markets.

Shares of Comtech were unchanged at $13.21 in afternoon trading Thursday on the Nasdaq Stock Market. They are down more than 30 percent year to date.
