CPI Aerostructures gets $1.15M order

Edgewood-based CPI Aerostructures Inc. has been awarded a $1.15 million order from Northrop Grumman Corp. to manufacture products for a U.S. Navy program, the company announced Wednesday morning.
CPI Aero will begin manufacturing pod structural housings, above, for the airborne-laser mine-detection system immediately and make deliveries from November 2011 through February 2012.
The contract brings the company’s total contract awards to $59.4 million for 2010 so far, compared to $23.4 million for 2009.
