The Plainview-based electronics maker Aeroflex Holding Corp. is going public, the company said Friday.

Its initial public offering will include 17.25 million shares of common stock, with a price expected to be set at $13.50 to $15.50 per share, the company said.

The company expects the stock to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol ARX.

Aeroflex Holding Corp.'s wholly-owned subsidiary Aeroflex Inc., which went private about three years ago, said in April in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it planned to use IPO proceeds to retire "substantial indebtedness."

Aeroflex makes semiconductors, and testing and measuring equipment, for the defense, aerospace, commercial wireless communication and medical markets.
