Employees at Melville-based MSC Industrial Supply Co. participated in five charitable giving programs at the end of 2010 as part of the company’s support of local communities this winter, MSC says.
“Our associates are committed to supporting the communities in which we live and work, and we are always thrilled to be able to give to those who are less fortunate, especially during the winter season,” David Sandler, president and chief executive, said.
MSC sells online and through the company's catalog, called The Big Book, which lists 600,000 tools and supplies in a 4,484-page volume weighing more than 10 pounds.
“Our tradition of giving back to the community is part of our corporate culture and core values at MSC,” Sandler said. “It is this culture and the contagious spirit of our associates that makes me proud to be part of this organization.”
The charitable programs were:
- The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island "Lights of Love" Celebration
- Make-A-Wish Campaign
- Children's Gift Card Campaign
- Adopt-A-Town Drive
- 21st Annual Festival of Trees
