J&B Restaurant Partners, which owns 33 Friendly's restaurants and has a workforce of 1,500 on Long Island, said it plans to open a new restaurant each year for the next decade.
J&B this week marks 10 years as the chain's exclusive franchise holder in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
This week the national Friendly's chain, too, had its own announcement -- a series of upgrades and renovations to its restaurants on Long Island, marking the 40th anniversary of its presence in the region.
The franchisee will celebrate the event by giving away $400 in cash at three of its restaurants, and offering $4 menu items on weekdays.
At Friendly's restaurants in Syosset, Commack and Stony Brook, "one guest at each Friendly's will be surprised with $400 in cash as part of 'Random Acts of Friendlyness' campaign," the company said.
The $400 giveaways will take place Wednesday.
Here are the times and locations:
-- 11:30 p.m., 150 Jericho Tpk., Syosset
-- 12:30 p.m., 2151 Jericho Tpk., Commack
-- 1:30 p.m., 201 Hallock Rd., Stony Brook
J&B said it opened its most recent Friendly's in Shirley in August.
