Four Pineapple Ball honorees have been chosen for the Garden City Chamber of Commerce event, to be held in May.
The four were chosen by a Chamber search committee.
They are state Sen. Kemp Hannon, John Wilton of Garden City Properties, Connie Deckel of King's supermarket and Bill Proto of Adelphi University.
The Chamber's 9th annual Pineapple Ball is to be held May 13 at the Garden City Hotel. It features cocktails, dinner and dancing.
Hannon (R-Garden City) was selected as citizen of the year.
Proto, an Adelphi vice president, won the Community Achievement award.
Wilton is businessperson of the year.
Deckel, the supermarket manager, gets the President's award.
Individual tickets to the event are $250; a table of 10 costs $2,500.
Super Raffle Tickets (only 500 tickets to be sold) are $50 each or three for $100. First prize is $3,000; second prize is $1,500; and third prize is $500.
Event co-chairs are Stephanie Cullum and Christine Wood.
John Appelt and Nicole Russo volunteered to work on the journal. John Roulett is running the silent auction. Althea Robinson is doing publicity; and Maria Grassi and Alba Spinelli are handling the raffle.
