Hearing on Northrop-Grumman joining Nassau's Empire Zone

Northrop-Grumman Systems Corp., based in Bethpage, plans to invest in a $10-million expansion over the next five years. It will be eligible for significant tax breaks under the state’s Empire Zone law, which is set to expire at the end of this month, if it is declared part of the Nassau County Empire Zone by the Town of Oyster Bay.

The town is holding a public meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. to solicit comments on the inclusion of Northrop-Grumman. The elected officials’ vote is on the calendar for tomorrow, according to town spokeswoman Marta Kane.

The meeting will be held in the hearing room of Town Hall East, 54 Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay.
