College students and new grads have a new resource to help them find “internships, mentors and inspiration.”
It’s NY Creative Interns -- a blog and networking group founded in October by Emily Miethner, a recent Hofstra grad (in cap and gown at left), whose day job is serving as social media marketing coordinator for Sterling Publishing in Manhattan.
On the site she writes, “throughout my college career and internships I noticed a disconnect between internship hopefuls and companies that are in need of them. I wanted to bridge that gap with NYCi events.”
So far, so good. Over 150 students, recent grads and professionals attended the organization’s kickoff Meetup earlier this month. Keep an eye out for the next event, tentatively planned for February.
