Henry Schein, the Melville-based distributor of medical supplies worldwide, has acquired C&M Vetlink, an animal health products company in Ireland, the company announced Friday.

Terms of the deal, including the purchase price, were not disclosed. Newsday has reached out to Henry Schein for additional comment.

C&M Vetlink began in 1972 as a distributor for the pharmaceutical company Pfizer and now supplies animal health products to a network of more than 40 companies, according to the company's website. Last year, C&M had sales of $54.7 million.

Henry Schein is the largest public company in Long Island and employs about 1,350 people locally.
