Henry Schein, a maker of health care products, will host an annual back-to-school event Thursday at the company's Melville headquarters.
Some 583 Long Island children -- chosen by 10 local service organizations -- will attend the event, which will feature food and activities such as face painting, games, balloon animals.
The children in attendance will also be outfitted with new back to school clothing and backpacks with school supplies.
Henry Schein's back to school program also takes place nationally in 21 other U.S. and Canadian cities. It is part of Henry Schein Cares, the nonprofit arm of the company. This is the 15th year that the event has been held.
