A Hicksville manufacturer of defense and law enforcement equipment has entered a voluntary federal government program to certify that all its employees are authorized to work in the United States.

The company, American Defense Systems Inc., allowed federal immigration authorities to audit its hiring procedures and inspect the documentation for its current workers.

The company is the first to enroll in the Immigration and Customs Enforcement program, titled ICE Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers, or Image.

ASDI makes “transparent and opaque armor, security doors, windows and curtain wall systems used by military, law enforcement, homeland defense and corporate customers.”
