An Amityville construction firm is moving to Islip after the town's Industrial Development Agency offered financial incentives to relocate to Bay Shore.
The move will help Land Tek, which builds athletic fields and facilities, keep 225 jobs and develop 30 more jobs, and invest almost $6 million into its new site on Sweeneydale Avenue.
The Islip IDA board offered mortgage recording tax and property tax abatements to the company, which will also be known as Islip Yards LLC.
"This company approached our IDA looking for a way to move their operations to Islip Town, because they know that Islip is a great place to do business. The tax abatements we plan to approve will not only allow hundreds of employees to keep their jobs, but will create short-term and long-term jobs for other Islip residents," town Supervisor Angie Carpenter said in a news release.
"The Islip IDA can help businesses of any size find a solution that will help them succeed in Islip Town. Land Tek is the latest company to partner with us to help grow Islip's economy," town Economic Development Commissioner William Mannix said in the release.
