Business executives and real estate developers are expected to learn details Tuesday of the competitive process New York State will use to award up to $1 billion in state tax credits and grants later this year, according to Jola Szubielski, a spokesman for Empire State Development Corp.

The contest, in its second year, will be discussed at a meeting of the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council from 3 to 5 p.m.  Tuesday at Farmingdale State College’s Roosevelt Hall in Farmingdale.

The meeting is open to the public and RSVPs should be sent to dzani@esd.ny.gov. Long Island won $101.6 million in last year’s competition.
