Several Long Island business experts will be among those leading a social media educational event Thursday in Manhattan.
General admission, including breakfast and lunch, is $99; students pay $39. Register online at smac2012.com.
The session is titled Social Media Action Camp, where attendees can learn what it means to Like something on Facebook, for example. It's set for the Roger Smith Hotel, 501 Lexington Ave., from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Leading the day's presentations will be Digital Brand Marketing Education, a not-for-profit educational organization aimed at helping business owners and professionals.
The event is part of Social Media Week, which will be taking place in 21 cities across the globe from Feb. 13 through17, the organizers say.
The goal of the Manhattan session is to "provide a digital communications learning environment for small business owners, social media enthusiasts and entrepreneurs."
