A subsidiary of the defense and maritime electronics maker Comtech Telecommunications Corp., of Melville, has successfully completed tests showing its products are compatible with a major line of seagoing vessel antenna systems.

The Comtech unit "has completed interoperability testing with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation's MVA100 Maritime VSAT stabilized antenna system," the Melville company said in a news release.

The subsidiary is Comtech EF Data Corp., of Tempe, Ariz. Its product is the Roaming Oceanic Satellite Server, known by the acronym ROSS.

Comtech EF Data's tests show its products allow maritime freighters and other ocean-going vessels "to globally roam across multiple satellite beams, maintaining connectivity moving through different satellite footprints," the company said.
