Military veterans now returning to find work on Long Island have a new resource to help with the transition from military to civilian jobs.

Starting Wednesday, Aug. 10, Melville-based Lloyd Staffing will offer free, two-hour morning workshops on resume writing, interview skills and transitioning tips.

Called Operation Deployment to Employment, the stand-alone sessions will also be held on the following Wednesdays in August, and each can accommodate the first 25 veterans who sign up.

The program can be especially helpful for those returning veterans who went right from high school to the military with no civilian workplace experience, says Nancy Schuman, vice president of marketing for LLoyd Staffing.
