HEALTH

Dr. Bruce Polsky of Manhattan and Amagansett has been appointed chairman of the Department of Medicine at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola. He had a similar position at Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Mount Sinai Roosevelt hospitals and taught at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Ronald J. Gulotta of Lloyd Harbor has been appointed chief medical officer at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn. He has been an attending physician there since 1992 and previously directed the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Brookhaven Memorial Medical Center in Patchogue.

NONPROFITS

Karen Siris of Roslyn has been elected to the board of directors of Child Abuse Prevention Services in Roslyn. Previously she was principal of the W.S. Boardman Elementary School in Oceanside and an adjunct professor of educational leadership at Adelphi University.

LAW

Christopher Palmer of Rockville Centre has been promoted to managing partner at Cullen and Dykman in Garden City. He was a partner.
