Ellen Khatoun of Selden has been hired in Mount Sinai. She was at ReMax Alliance in Miller Place.

Rebecca Weiner of Sound Beach has been hired in Mount Sinai. She was an assistant manager at Pier One Imports in Lake Grove.

Cynthia Toledo of Nissequogue has been hired in Smithtown. She owned The Original Mommy and Me in Lake Grove and was a preschool director at Gold Medal Gymnastics in Smithtown.

EDUCATION

Laura Lindenfeld has been named director of the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University. She taught communication and headed the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center at the University of Maine in Orono. She plans to move here from Maine.

Lou Reinisch of Islip has joined New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury as associate provost for academic affairs. He was dean of arts and sciences at Farmingdale State College.
