James L. Simon of Stratford, Connecticut, has been named dean of the New York Institute of Technology College of Arts and Sciences in Old Westbury. He was interim dean at Fairfield University in Connecticut.

Alexandria Hiam of Patchogue has been hired as a library media specialist at Hauppauge High School and Hauppauge Middle School. She was a children's and teen-services librarian at the Comsewogue Public Library and also held positions at several Long Island public libraries and school districts.
