Gordon Thomas of Bay Shore has joined Gentiva Home Health Services as an orthopedic sales specialist in Hauppauge, Westbury and Riverhead. He was a marketing specialist for InterimHealth Care of Stony Brook.

Dr. Elizabeth Fontana of Garden City has been named director of neurosurgery at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. She was a brain and spine tumor fellow at the Swedish Medical Center Neuroscience Institute in Seattle.

Dr. Lyn Weiss of Jericho, chair of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, has been appointed to the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation's Choosing Wisely Task Force. It is publishing procedures doctors and patients can review in discussing care choices.
