Long Island hires and promotions: Pal-O-Mine names new board member

Ellen Lear of Riverhead has joined the board of directors at Pal-O-Mine in Islandia, a nonprofit that provides therapeutic equine programs for children and adults with disabilities. She is a mental health professional who practices equine-assisted psychotherapy and learning.

Roy Danis of Rockville Centre has been named to the board of directors at the Viscardi Center in Albertson, a network of nonprofits providing services that educate, employ and empower people with disabilities. He is managing director of Campari America, a spirits company.

James Lemonda of New Hyde Park has been sworn in as president of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association in Manhattan. He is a battalion chief with the Fire Department of New York.

Joseph Moscola of Massapequa Park has joined the board of directors of the Farmingdale College Foundation at Farmingdale State College. He is senior vice president and chief HR officer at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in Manhasset.
