A memorial service for Matthew Crosson, former president of the Long Island Association, is scheduled for Thursday in Brookville.
The 10 a.m. service is to be held in the Hillwood Recital Hall, at the Tilles Center on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
Crosson, 61, formerly of Lloyd Harbor, died Dec. 23 in Las Vegas, where he was president of the city's chamber of commerce. Crosson led the LIA from 1993 until leaving last year for Nevada.
A lawyer, he began his career as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan in 1974. In 1983, he was named assistant counsel to Gov. Mario M. Cuomo. He then worked at the state Unified Court System starting in 1985 as deputy chief administrator, and, from 1985-1993, as chief administrator.
