Farmingdale-based Misonix Inc., a developer of minimally invasive ultrasonic medical device technology, has signed a new distribution agreement for Brazil, the company said Wednesday.
The three-year Brazil agreement comes within weeks of Misonix signing new agreements for marketing and sales in Chile, Peru and Saudi Arabia, which were announced in January.
Rio de Janeiro-based Neuro Orthopaedics Surgeries will distribute the company's SonaStar Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator and the BoneScalpel Ultrasonic Bone Cutter, Misonix said.
The agreement provides Neuro Orthopaedics Surgeries with the right to sell exclusively in Brazil and includes minimum purchase requirements.
The addition of Neuro Orthopaedics Surgeries marks the company's eighth distribution agreement in Latin America. The company has more than 30 export distributors worldwide.
Neuro Orthopaedics Surgeries is widely recognized for its success in introducing state-of-the-art medical devices and capital equipment to the Brazilian surgical marketplace, Misonix said. Its special expertise is in neurosurgery and spinal surgery.
Misonix equipment is used in Europe for the ablation of tumors and worldwide for other acute health conditions.
