Jericho-based General Sentiment has appointed cable-industry veteran Pete Moran as its chief executive to take the company to the next level, the company said.
Since January, Moran has been leading the sales effort at General Sentiment, which analyzes opinions and perceptions of products, brands and politics. In his new position, he will be “responsible for driving sales” and “expanding General Sentiment’s market presence,” the company said in a news release.
Moran, who has more than 30 years experience, assumes the post from Ari Kahn, who served as interim CEO.
“He’s been key in pivoting General Sentiment’s product offerings to focus on media and advertisers,” said Jim Estill, co-founder of Canrock Ventures and chairman of General Sentiment, in a news release. “He not only has significant experience and deep ties to both industries; his entrepreneurial spirit and track record in building businesses make him a natural fit.”
Moran worked at Bethpage-based Cablevision for 12 years in advertising sales. He also made his mark at several other companies in Colorado, pioneering an online system for buying and selling TV ads at one and developing targeted and interactive TV advertising at another. He also founded consulting firm Darcy Interactive Media in Boulder, CO.
