Amityville-based Napco Security Technologies says it got a blue ribbon for best in show at a major trade event.
The award came at the International Security Conference West, held in Las Vegas last month.
Napco's winning product was its Gemini C-Series Combination, a burglary and fire alarm system.
The award was given by the Security Industry Association as part of its new product showcase.
The showcase was established to recognize innovative products, services and solutions in electronic physical security, to protect life and property at homes, businesses and institutions, Napco said in a news release.
The winning product, the Napco GEMC-C Commercial Combination Burglary / Fire Alarm System "is a major innovation in complete protection for all types of commercial buildings, like malls [and] schools," Napco said. It is "the first analog-addressable technology system in its class for pinpoint reporting."
The equipment has independent circuits and a large power reserve, with up to 255 zones. It's available in wireless, analog and conventional models.
