The new Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Westbury will begin accepting guests Friday afternoon.
The newly built, 145-room hotel has a lobby and eatery with informal gathering spaces and free Wi-Fi; a business center with computers and printers; and rooms with features that include wheeled desks, desk-level outlets and USB ports.
“Today’s technology has changed how people travel,” Courtyard vice president and global brand manager Callette Nielsen said in a statement. “Our guests want a room that has purpose and flexibility that enables a seamless transition between relaxing and working.”
The six-story building at 1800 Privado Rd., off Merchants Concourse, also includes an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor fire pit, fitness center, guest laundry and meeting spaces.
The hotel is owned by CHSGN Long Island Hotel Partners and managed by Chartwell Hospitality of Franklin, Tennessee.
The Hempstead Industrial Development Agency granted the hotel a sales tax exemption on $22 million of project costs, a $189,593 mortgage recording tax exemption and a 10-year property tax abatement.
