Thirteen-year-old Aidan Dwyer, who is arguably Long Island's youngest solar developer, was featured Friday on CNN with a video segment on his talk given at the 2010 Pop Tech conference.

"Obvious statement: Lots of middle schoolers have been outside," a CNN reporter says in a story accompanying the network's broadcast video about the young inventor. "But I'm going to go out on a limb and say that almost none of them look up at the trees, see the Fibonacci Sequence in the branches, and use that insight to develop new and more-efficient methods of arranging solar panels," the CNN report says.

"Stuff like that only happens to Aidan Dwyer."

Newsday did a quick profile of the Northport middle schooler in June, when he was one of 12 students nationwide to win a 2011 Young Naturalist Award from the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan.
