Northwell Health, formerly named North Shore-LIJ Health System, has leased 52,400 square feet of additional office space at T. Weiss Realty’s Melville Corporate Center II, according to the commercial real estate developer.

Located at 330 South Service Rd., the 88,000-square-foot office property has been home to a 20,000-square-foot Northwell call center since 2013. With the newly secured lease, the Great Neck-based health care provider is now the landlord’s largest tenant across its five-property, 600,000-square-foot portfolio, said Craig Weiss, president of T. Weiss Realty.

Northwell replaces Verint Systems Inc., Long Island’s largest software maker, as the corporate center’s anchor tenant. Verint’s lease expired last month.

T. Weiss had originally planned to turn Verint’s leased space into a 40-unit shared office space. Since Northwell has taken the “lion’s share” of the property, the developer plans to relocate the shared office plan to an unnamed property it is in the process of acquiring.

“That ambition of ours has never gone away, but certainly to accommodate Northwell’s expansion, we’ll put that aside for now,” Weiss said.
