Hauppauge-based Orbit International Corp. has received a contract valued at more than $1.05 million to manufacture intercommunication panels from a global defense electronics contractor, the company announced Thursday morning.
The program will upgrade panels for the U.S. Navy. Deliveries are expected to be made from the second quarter through the fourth quarter of 2011.
Orbit chief executive Dennis Sunshine, above left, said the company has been producing Console Intercommunications Units for the U.S. Navy for 40 years. “The manufacture of this new CIU configuration will be seamless and transparent to the operator.”
