The Farmingdale-based electronics and appliance retailer P.C. Richard & Son on Tuesday opened a new 400,000 square foot retail store and warehouse in New Jersey.

P.C. Richard started the construction and remodeling project in 2009, and completed the retail building recently, the website reports.

"In addition to the new Carteret retail and clearance superstore, 15 acres of existing light industrial space has been converted into office and warehouse/distribution space for PC Richard & Son's management operations," the report said.

The project is certified through the Carteret Urban Enterprise Program, which will provide P. C. Richard & Son with “state tax benefits and employment incentives, and consumer incentive through the reduced sales tax rate of 3.5% on all retail sales,” the report said.

"Reduced sales tax have helped provide a competitive edge for attracting customers to participating businesses throughout New Jersey," reports.
