Port Washington-based Pall Corp. says one of its factories has reached a milestone by shipping its 500th specialized municipal water system.
The Pall product is its Aria membrane water treatment system. The systems can produce drinking water from almost any raw water source, Pall said.
It was made by Pall’s factory in upstate Cortland.
The Aria was designed to meet the needs of small communities. It was first deployed in Chandler, Ariz., for waste water treatment. Now, Pall said, municipal water system sales have become one of its fastest growing segments.
Pall said it “recognized that increasingly stringent environmental requirements, coupled with the growing scarcity of potable water, would create a strong demand for filtration systems capable of providing a reliable, clean water source that could be implemented easily and cost effectively.”
