Publishers Clearing House has bought the "advergaming" website candystand.com, an online game company that specializes in promoting name-brand chewing gum and candy.
The Port Washington-based Publishers Clearing House, or PCH, has increasingly branched out from its former core business of selling discounted magazine subscriptions, promoted with sweepstakes prizes.
PCH did not say how much it paid for Funtank LLC, which owns and operates candystand.com.

"The acquisition is designed to help PCH expand its digital advertising product set to include branded games on Web sites as well as social gaming and mobile applications.”
