Charles J. Casolaro, a Rockville Centre resident and a partner in the Garden City law firm of Casolaro Sussman, was appointed to the board of trustees of the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City.

Jeffrey M. Schlossberg has been appointed to the Northeast regional board of Canine Companions for Independence, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance dogs and ongoing support to people with disabilities. The Scarsdale resident is a partner at the Uniondale law firm of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek.

Jeffrey S. Schwartz, has been elected to the board of directors at the Mid-Island Y Jewish Community Center in Plainview. The Plainview resident has his own law firm with offices in Mineola and San Diego.

Douglas Melzer, chief executive of Long Beach Medical Center, has been named chairman of the board of the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council, an association that represents the 24 not-for-profit and public hospitals on Long Island. He is a Merrick resident.

Gail D. Weiner has joined Long Island Universityas assistant vice president for employee relations. She was special project administrator at Columbia University Medical Center and will be moving from New Jersey to New York City.

Melville health care products and services distributor Henry Scheinhas announced three promotions: Sergio Tejeda has been promoted to director of regulatory operations and compliance from regulatory affairs manager. He is a Port Washington resident. Tracey Hammond has been promoted to director of North American business events from event manager for the medical and animal health divisions. She lives in Oakdale. Anthony Providenti has been named vice president of planning and development for the company's U.S. medical group. He was vice president of business development in the corporate business development area and lives in New York City.

John Porath has joined Titleserv National of Woodbury as senior vice president/director of real estate-owned sales. The Charlotte, N.C., resident was vice president and senior lending manager for JPMorgan Chase.

Giulio Lombardi, an Elmont resident, has been promoted to assistant vice president at E.G. Bowman Co., a Manhattan commercial insurance broker. He was promoted from senior account executive.

Mark S. Mulholland has been named managing partner at the Uniondale law firm of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek. The Bayport resident has been a co-managing partner since 2006.

Dr. Robin Ross has been named president of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association. The Shelter Island resident and her husband practice at Shelter Island Podiatry Associates. 

Rabbi David Altman has been hired by the Mastic Beach Hebrew Center. The Selden resident was a religious school educator at Temple Isaiah in Stony Brook.

Richard Olsen-Harbich has joined Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue as winemaker. The Mattituck resident was the winemaker at Raphael in Peconic.
