The plumbers' union will begin accepting applications Wednesday for 20 apprentices.
Applications can be obtained at Local 200 of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry, 375 Central Ave., Bohemia, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, excluding legal holidays.
Applications must be filled out in the office before June 26.
Applicants should be 18 or older, live on Long Island, provide proof of finishing high school or GED courses, be physically able to do plumbing work, have a valid New York State driver’s license, submit to drug testing, and purchase instructional materials costing an average of $225 per year.
