Abington YMCA Receives $3,250 Grant for Tree Service from Giroud Tree and Lawn To Make Trees Near Walking Paths and Children's Play Area Safe

Trees at the Abington YMCA received urgent help from Giroud Tree and Lawn through a tree service grant of $3,250 to remove hazardous limbs hanging over high traffic areas and ensure the safety of walking paths, the bus loading zone and children's playground. The grant was made as part of The Giroud Treework for Charity Program.

Abington, PA (PRWEB) May 09, 2016

The Abington YMCA walking paths and children’s play area are now safer thanks to a $3,250 grant for tree service from Giroud Tree and Lawn.

The grant from Giroud Tree and Lawn focuses on the Abington YMCA’s most urgent tree service needs. According to Rob Nagy, Giroud Arborist and ISA Certified Arborist, “Safety was the top priority for Giroud’s grant. We removed hazardous limbs that hung over high traffic areas that included the children’s playground, walking path and the bus loading zone.”

“When children participate in our pre-school, after school and camp programs, we want them to have fun, learn and of course, be safe.” says Missy Di Massa, Associate Executive Director, Abington YMCA. “Giroud’s donation helps to ensure the safety of the trees surrounding the areas where our children play and walk.”

Giroud Tree and Lawn’s donation is part of the “Giroud Treework for Charity” program which donates free tree care services to parks, historical sites and other non-profit organizations located in Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. “Giroud Treework for Charity” was established in 1997 to help local non-profit organizations preserve their irreplaceable trees and ensure safety. It has already provided over $70,000 in free tree care to numerous area organizations. Giroud welcomes applications from any 501(c)3 organization that is open to the entire community on a nonsectarian basis. An organization must be located within Giroud's service area.
