Author Whitney Carpenter Launches “Project Transition” for Women in Transitional Housing

The author, CEO, and founder of Tri-state Women's group is helping women transition to a better life by giving them educational tools and techniques to reach their dreams.

Hagerstown, MD (PRWEB) May 05, 2016

Author and Tri-state Women’s group founder, Whitney Carpenter is launching a new program created to help support women who live in transitional housing and need help finding resources and information about improving their quality of life. Carpenter said, “’Project Transition’ was derived through a conversation I had with my friend, Rosa Rodriquez. We both grew up in the projects, however, I was able to succeed and she remained in the projects. We wanted to understand why this happened and through our discussion realized that I was given information she never received. We surmised this knowledge was what propelled my prosperity and became the game changer for me.”

Because of their own experience, the two women have partnered together to give other women the tools to succeed. In October at HCC they will host 20 workshops that will focus on: business, education, health and wellness, personal finance, and self-awareness. ‘Project Transition’ will incorporate other community leaders and their expertise to host some of the workshops. Rodriquez said, “I didn’t believe success was an option. My mom lived in the projects and I just believed that my life wouldn’t be any different. I want other women to know they can achieve their dreams and how to do it. We want to teach them there are paths to success.”

Sponsorships are available for those interested in taking part in ‘Project Transition’. Sponsorships run from $250-$750. Because the Tri-state Women’s group is taking on ‘Project Transition’ the sponsors will receive signage and perks during their events. Current sponsors include: United Bank, Stacey Nikirk at Remax, George Mason Mortgage, Sugar & Spice Home Staging and Redesign, Prep Your Loan, Billwood Properties, Kristen Holt, Mia Collins, Hagerstown Start Up, Mary Kay, TLS & Associates, HCC, and Ovation PR & Advertising.
