CME Coach™ Finds the Intersection Between Specialty and State Requirements

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 04, 2016

BoardVitals, a digital leader in medical education, today announced the launch of CME Coach™, a free tool to help physicians find and identify their continuing education requirements across state and specialty.

CME Coach™ is the first of its kind tool to find the intersection of Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements. Physicians can simply enter their specialty and state where they practice to receive the list of continuing education requirements specific to their state license and certification. The tool also provides suggested activities that help physicians meet each of those requirements.

Continuing education is a requirement for practicing physicians to keep their licenses and certification current and valid. It is divided into two components, Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and Continuing Medical Education (CME). MOC points are required by the specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties, and CME credits are required by the state medical boards.

"Finding and interpreting individual continuing education requirements can be extremely daunting, time-consuming, and frustrating for physicians,” said Dan Lambert, CEO of BoardVitals. “We wanted to create something that would mitigate the amount of stress and confusion that physicians are experiencing when navigating the Continuing Medical Education terrain and CME Coach™ is one more way we can support our physicians."

BoardVitals provides “board-style” question bank activities that fulfill both MOC and CME requirements for many specialties and states. These activities are have been developed by leading physicians in each specialty and have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and each of the associated medical Specialty Boards.
