With only two days left in its crowdfunding campaign, Decibullz Contour is close to introducing improved sound drivers
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) December 17, 2013
Since its campaign launched in mid-November, Decibullz custom-molded earbuds have been a hit with the Kickstarter community. It took just eight days for the campaign to reach its initial goal of $40,000, and has since doubled that amount thanks to more than 1,900 backers. Now, after much speculation, Decibullz has announced the name for their second-generation earbuds will be Decibullz Contour.
Until now, the earbuds have been known only as Decibullz 2.0 to differentiate that they are a new and improved version of the wildly successful first generation. The name was introduced alongside new packaging designs in an update to backers on Kickstarter. Contour was chosen as the name because it best describes Decibullz’ ability to perfectly mold to one’s ears.
Midway through the campaign, Decibullz Contour announced two stretch goals that, if met, would bring new color molds and even better sound drivers to the earbuds. Currently, Decibullz Contour has surpassed the $80,000 funding mark, which was its first stretch goal, and will introduce pink, white, and light blue thermoplastic molds to its existing line of seven colors (red, black, green, yellow, blue, orange, and purple). When the second stretch goal of $100,000 is reached, Decibullz Contour will have the ability to improve the sound drivers even further.
“I’m ecstatic to announce the name of the new Decibullz Contour to our backers,” states Decibullz creator Kyle Kirkpatrick. “The Kickstarter community has received our campaign so well, and they’ve been our most important advocates. Hopefully we can reach our second stretch goal to take the Decibullz Contour experience to the next level.”
Decibullz Contour offers a host of improvements over the previous model. Along with the unique thermoplastic molds, improvements include a tangle free cable, integrated microphone with music control, a low profile, better sound quality, and greater noise isolation.
Decibullz Contour features a simple molding process. The user simply heats the molds in water via microwave and then lets them cool before molding to their ears. If the fit isn’t ideal the first time around, or if someone else were to use the earbuds, the process can be repeated; Decibullz is the only remoldable earbud system in the world.
