Hop Steady Press Announces First Children’s Book: The Tortoise and Harriet

Hop Steady Press announces plans to release first children's book, The Tortoise and Harriet, a modern take on a classic tale. Illustrations, photographs, fashion, and imagination tell a story to inspire and entertain.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) May 04, 2016

Local publishing company Hop Steady Press announced today on Instagram and Facebook, plans to release their first children’s book, The Tortoise and Harriet, slated for publication in March of 2017.

The tale offers a witty, modern take on the classic story The Tortoise and the Hare and boasts a collaborative illustration style unlike anything else in children's literature.

First-time author J Audrey Nelson took the role of Creative Director and cast her pets Boris, a Russian land tortoise and Harriet, a Polish blue rabbit as the main characters. Nelson then recruited an A-list team of collaborators, to turn the pages of her story into a visual masterpiece:

Mischka Aoki- High-end Australian fashion label, known for their haute couture dresses for children, immediately hopped on board as the exclusive designer for Harriet.

Topo Designs- Denver-based outdoors brand, outfitted Boris with a 3-inch version of their top selling bag, the Klettersack. Boris’s stylist and fashion designer Mona Lucero also keeps him looking fresh from start to finish.

Melanie Watson- Denver based fashion, portrait, and pet photographer beautifully captured the spirits of both Boris and Harriet, adorned in their custom-made ensembles.

Dulk- Well known Spanish street artist and award-winning illustrator, Antonio Segura Donat (Dulk) brings everything together with his highly detailed illustrations and expressive characters.

Follow along as The Tortoise and Harriet prepares for publication. Boris and Harriet are full of life and personality, on and off set. Get a behind the scenes look at the collaborators, the book-making process and the evolution of Dulk’s illustrations. This is a fun journey not to be missed!
