BricksALIVE Experience Opens August 19
Charleston, S.C. (PRWEB) May 09, 2016
They’ve been a staple of almost everyone’s childhood, LEGO® bricks, now they’re inspiring guests at the South Carolina Aquarium. BricksALIVE, which opens August 19, features a collection of twelve life-sized animal sculptures throughout the Aquarium’s second floor. These amazing and complex sculptures will represent species that call South Carolina home.
Creativity and imagination will come to life through more than 250,000 colorful LEGO® bricks that form one-of-a-kind animal sculptures including a bald eagle, a sea turtle, a river otter and an 8-foot dolphin. The Aquarium’s exhibit team is designing and constructing the sculptures which once done, will have taken five months to complete. Aquarium guests will be able to contribute to the experience through a special interactive building station, inspiring all ages to learn more about our oceans through play. Guests may add a personal touch by placing their finished sculptures on a coral reef, creating a one-of-a-kind sculpture that keeps growing.
The Aquarium is accepting gently used LEGO® bricks and plates to help construct the new sculptures. This brick drive is a great opportunity to recycle LEGO® bricks. For more information on the donations being accepted, click here. Individuals who donate will receive emails documenting the build of BricksALIVE and a special invitation to the exhibit opening on August 19.
BricksALIVE aims to connect guests with animals and the ocean through LEGO® bricks, ultimately inspiring guests to connect with and care for our environment. The experience will be included with general admission to the Aquarium or an Aquarium membership. For more information, visit scaquarium.org/bricksalive or call (843) 577-FISH (3474).
