The Volunteer Excellence Recognition Award (VERA), presented by the Business Council for Peace recognizes Nearshore Executive Alliance and its member companies for their significant contributions during 2015
New York, New York (PRWEB) October 22, 2015
The Nearshore Executive Alliance (NEA) is honored to have been selected as a Volunteer Excellence Recognition Award (VERA) winner by the Business Council for Peace (Bpeace), a New York based non-profit that works with entrepreneurs in conflict-affected countries around the world to help them create sustainable employment.
Through its member companies, NEA has collaborated with the Bpeace Executive Business Exchange (BEBE) program, a corporate entrepreneurship exchange program supported by the U.S. Department of State and designed to promote innovation, leadership diversity and global awareness. NEA members have volunteered to host the Central American executives selected by Bpeace and shared with them their knowledge about market and growth challenges in the IT/BPO industry, in alignment with the program’s learning outcomes.
The award ceremony took place October 20, and NEA Executive Director, Rebeca Hassan accepted the VERA award. “This is well deserved recognition to our member companies that have supported the BEBE program. CI&T, Unosquare, iTexico, HITSS and Venture Communications have demonstrated their commitment to advancing the nearshore services industry by taking part of this program as well as taking part in the NEA’s goal of driving sustainable economic, business, social, and human rights growth in the Americas”, said Ms. Hassan.
“Nearshore Executive Alliance is a critical partner for Bpeace,” says Bpeace Chief Program Officer Marla Gitterman, “Successfully connecting us with member organizations willing to provide pro bono consulting advice to our ‘Fast Runner’ businesses in Central America. NEA members have hosted our Fast Runners here in the U.S., have worked virtually, and one even served as an in-country Traveling Mentor—sharing expertise and best practices to help these entrepreneurs overcome challenges, grow their businesses and create the jobs that change lives and communities.”
The Nearshore Executive Alliance is honored and humbled by this recognition to the support of its members, and looks forward to partnering with Bpeace on the BEBE program again and any other initiatives that support NEA’s mission of increasing the use of the nearshore delivery model and supporting the sustainable economic growth of the region.
