With more consumers reading and making book purchases from hand-held devices, book and author websites need to be mobile-ready.

According to a recent Google study, consumers are spending more than 15 hours a week on their smartphones, with 93% going on to buy products they search for on their mobile devices. Spotting this trend, Strategic Book Publishing and Rights Agency (SBPRA) converted all author websites to mobile-ready, making them graphic-driven and SEO-optimized.
One of SBPRA’s children’s book authors, Sherrill S. Cannon, saw an increase of website visitors by more than 50% when SBPRA upgraded her website. More than 100,000 people have visited her website using traditional computers, Kindles, iPads, iPhones and other smaller screen mobile devices.
“Obtaining a mobile-ready website is as easy as visiting our website and sitting tight for a day or two,” said Lee Anderson, vice president of SBPRA’s technology division. “Our authors have beautiful stories to tell through their books. It’s important they also have a beautiful website that’s easy-to-use on every device.”
SBPRA has successfully launched over 1,000 mobile-ready author websites. Authors have 100 styles they can choose from that are mobile-ready, simple, private and effective. Even more, the websites are search-engine optimized to help authors move up in organic searches.
According to the Google study, purchase immediacy is critical to mobile consumers. In fact, 55% of consumers who use mobile to research want to purchase within the hour; 83% want to purchase within the day.
“We are keenly aware of the huge shift in how consumers use the Internet and make purchases,” said Robert Fletcher, CEO of SBPRA.
“When someone wants to learn more about a book or an author while at lunch, we know how important is they can do that right from their mobile device,” Fletcher added.
