TTR announced today that they will unveil their new Telecom Tax Rate library at the TeleStrategies Taxation Conference - May 16-18, in Phoenix, Arizona at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel.
McMinnville, OR (PRWEB) May 04, 2016
The TTR team will be showing attendees live demonstrations of their new Telecom Tax Rates Library. TTR’s Telecom Tax Rate Library has several industry firsts. Most notably is that TTR’s Telecom Tax Rates are the first to have full legal citations adjacent to every rate, with a direct link to laws. Other industry firsts include full exports of tax rates with associated legal citations, early rate change reports, tailored updates, and more.
Mr. Shon Holyfield, CEO of TTR, Inc. was asked to describe TTR’s relationship with TMI and the creation of the upcoming Telecom Tax Rate Library.
“We started down the path of a telecommunications tax rate offering years ago and we realized we just were not staffed to make it happen at that time. Releasing and maintaining Telecom Tax Rates is a monumental undertaking and one we needed help completing. We were stuck in our own rules and restrictions here at TTR. Rule #1 – It has to be right and maintainable.
Accuracy and ‘how will this hold up under audit’ are always first on our list of importance at TTR. Our management team is made up of several former tax department heads. We were raised on the belief that everything has to be right and it has to be auditable. As my Nana would often say growing up, ‘Getting it right sometimes takes more time, but in the end it is worth it.’ Correct tax answers. Correct tax rates. All provided in a way that is useful to industry. So how do you get Telecom Tax Rates right? It is a monumental undertaking; one that only a handful of other companies have ever attempted. We knew that we needed help.
That led us towards our partnership with TMI. Connie Wightman’s team has 40 professionals, most of whom have 12+ years in the telecom industry. Outside of the larger telecommunications companies themselves, TMI might be the single largest group of telecom fee experts in the US. The best part of TMI is their culture. Like TTR, they have one priority above all others – it has to be right. You can imagine our relief when we met and started working with Connie and her team at TMI.
We worked thousands of hours (not a joke) – both teams, setting up relationships nationwide with state and local governments to ensure that our telecom tax rates were accurate and would stay accurate going forward. Connie’s team and our team are really amazing.
Please remember that is always hard work from amazing people that get these projects done. Ideas are great and all, but it the brave people that actually do the work that should be acknowledged. Thank you to TMI and TTR. Thank you to the families that support all of these amazing professionals. Your hard work will make it possible for other professionals to maybe get home a little earlier or have peace of mind in knowing their telecom tax rates are right and auditable. I believe this is what makes every tax professional amazing – they all work very hard to get things right.”
