Convenience store chain QuickChek will open its third Long Island location in Copiague next month, and has plans to open another at the site of a former car dealership in Commack.

QuickChek, a Whitehouse Station, New Jersey-based operator of convenience stores specializing in made-to-order breakfast food, sandwiches and coffee, plans to open at 1147 Sunrise Hwy. in Copiague in March, a spokesman said Wednesday. The 6,929-square-foot location will feature eight gasoline pumps.

The company also has identified a site for a store in Commack, though an opening date has not been set.

A former car dealership at 6233 Jericho Tpke. in Commack, consisting of a 15,000-square-foot building on approximately 1.9 acres, was purchased by the Crest Group for $3.25 million and will be leased to QuickChek.

The Crest Group is a Port Jefferson Station-based real estate development and investment firm.

QuickChek will lease 6,584 square feet and will have eight gas pumps at the retail development when it’s complete.

The chain operates 154 convenience store locations throughout New Jersey, the Hudson Valley and Long Island, including locations in Lake Grove and Bethpage.

Roger Delisle of Smithtown-based brokerage Island Associates Real Estate Inc. represented the buyer in the Commack deal, and Bruce Nelson of Melville-based NAI Long Island represented the seller, DPM Holdings.

Development of the Commack location is expected to start this summer, according to a broker news release. The property sale closed last month.
