Restaurants, hotels and manufacturers in the food and beverage industry are all looking to hire at a job fair Tuesday.

About 25 employers in the food and hospitality sector are expected at the outdoor event, which will offer on-the-spot interviews at Island Harvest’s new headquarters from 10 a.m. to noon at 126 Spagnoli Rd. in Melville.

Registration for the job fair is required and can be completed online at https://bit.ly/3BARhuP.

The food and beverage industry "has been pretty hard hit" by the pandemic, said Michael Tucker, president of the Long Island Food Council, one of the fair’s organizers. The council has partnered with Suffolk County's Labor Department, Stony Brook University's Manufacturing and Technology Resource Consortium and Island Harvest for the event.

"We’re giving every employer a table, and they’re going to be interviewing folks right there for jobs," Tucker said.

Before the job fair, employers in the industry are invited to sit in on an informational session to hear from government agencies about potential business aid and employee training resources. The information session runs from 9 to 10 a.m.

Employers are also invited to attend an 8:30 a.m. welcome breakfast.
