School-business group plans golf fundraiser

School-Business Partnerships of Long Island Inc., based in Kings Park, will sponsor a golf outing honoring its founder and former chairman, who died in April.

The Fred Breithut Memorial Golf Outing will be  July 28 at Stonebridge Golf Links and Country Club in Hauppauge. Breithut died April 26.

Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m. and the tournament starts at 1 p.m.

The day's honorees are Frank W. Otto and Joe Kaminsky.

Otto is president at the Long Island Forum for Technology, and is a former executive at Grumman Aerospace Corp. and at EDO Corp.

Kaminsky is software engineering manager at Motorola Solutions, where he leads a team of software developers in creating software for a handheld computer. He is a former executive at Grumman Aerospace Corp., Telephonics Inc. and Parker Hannifin Corp.

Tickets are $250 per golfer and $900 per foursome and include a round of golf, golf carts, lunch and dinner. For those who do not plan to golf, tickets are $100 each for full dinner and cocktail hour. Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. The registration deadline is July 15.

"All proceeds will be used to help support the costs associated with SBPLI’s annual Long Island FIRST Robotics Competition, which costs more than $250,000 to host," the group says.
